Actor Vijay Deverakonda has put the promotions for his upcoming movie Kushi in top gear with just a few days left for its theatrical launch. He has been hopping from one state to another, talking to the press and interacting with fans to spread awareness about his latest romantic drama.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu is far away in Los Angeles
Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who played the female lead in Kushi, has gone to the USA . She has been vacationing in Los Angeles and keeping her fans inspired with her travel dairies on her Instagram page. Vijay Deverakonda has found a clever way to include her in the promotions. He video-called Samantha and told her a knock-knock joke that left her blushing at her LA Airbnb home.

Vijay Deverakonda misses Samantha Ruth Prabhu!
Samantha seemed to be surprised to get a call from Vijay Deverakonda at an unusual hour. "Hey, what's up? Is everything okay?" asks Samantha. "Nothing, I was missing you," says Deverakonda, giving us a glimpse of the crackling chemistry they share onscreen. And when Deverakonda offers to tell a knock-knock joke he seemed to have come up in the middle of the night, Samantha feigns disinterest before reluctantly agreeing to humour him. Deverakonda's joke leads to him singing 'Na Rojaa Nuvve' from their movie Kushi, leaving her flushed with joy.
A new promotional strategy
This is not the first time. Samantha and Deverakonda have been channelling their screen chemistry during promotional events to strike a chord with the young audience. During the Kushi musical concert, they both gave a live dance performance to a melody number from the movie.
About Kushi
Written and directed by Shiva Nirvana, Kushi revolves around a couple who gets married to each other against the wishes of their warring families. While they vow to live a happy life after marriage to prove the cynics in their families wrong, life throws them a curve ball. Can their fairy-tale love survive the heat of reality?
Besides Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha, the movie also stars Sachin Khedekar, Saranya Ponvannan, Murali Sharma, Lakshmi, Rohini, Vennela Kishore, Jayaram, and Rahul Ramakrishna.
Kushi is due in cinemas on Septemeber 1.
