Kuthiraivaal release date: When and where to watch this Tamil film with elements of magical realism

Kalaiyarasan's Kuthiraivaal, which released in theatres a month ago, is set for an OTT release. Debutant filmmakers Manoj Leonel Jahson and Shyam Sunder have directed the movie which opened to mixed response among critics and filmgoers. Vignesh Sundaresan's Yaazhi Films and Pa Ranjith's Neelam Productions have jointly produced the project.

Anjali Patil, Chetan Kadambi, Anand Sami, Sowmiya Jaganmurthy, Arumugavel and Baby Manasa play pivotal characters in the film which has elements of magic realism. G Rajesh has written screenplay and dialogues for the movie which has cinematography by Karthik Muthukumar and editing by MKP Gridaran.  

What's Kuthiraivaal about?

The film's story revolves around an introverted banker who leads a mundane life. One day, he gets the shock of his life when he wakes up with a horse tail on his back. Quite puzzled at the bizarre incident, he starts recollecting the weird dream he experienced in the night.

The entry of an unknown girl into his room makes him even more confused. Not knowing what to do with the horse tail and the girl, he tries indulging in a lot of things to get rid of the two from his life. Will he be able to find the connection between the two?

When and where to watch Kuthiraivaal online?

The movie is dropping on Netflix on April 20. Kalaiyarasan was earlier seen in Ranjith's Madras (streaming on Disney+ Hotstar), Kabali and Sarpatta Parambarai (streaming on Amazon Prime Video) while Anjali Patil was seen in the filmmaker-producer's Kaala (streaming on Amazon Prime Video). 

Anthony BJ Ruban has helmed the sound designing of the movie and Ramu Thangaraj has handled its production design. Kalaiyarasan will next be seen in Titanic - Kadhalum Kavundhu Pogum which will release on May 6.
