Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is an iconic TV serial that used to be the daily watch show for almost every Indian house. The show first premiered in 2000 and ended in 2008, with 1833 episodes. Now, much to the fans' delight, the show is set to return with a reboot season on Star Plus and JioHotstar (OTTplay Premium) from July 29, 2025. Smriti Irani will return as Tulsi to capture the hearts of everyone once again. Ahead of the release, Smriti opened up about the show's legacy and relevance.

Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi's new season will bring back Smriti Irani in the iconic role of Tulsi. Ahead of the premiere, Irani opened up about the show's legacy and relevance. She said that it was never just a TV serial. 

“When young artists sit with me for script discussions, we don’t really talk about the script. Instead, we end up discussing Parliament, current affairs, world history, and the future topics that connect generations,” she said.

She further added that the show has become a source of livelihood for so many people, and because of the audience's love, the show grew, and every time someone switched on the TV, it lit many people’s homes with hope.

Talking about the reboot season, she added, “This show brings together three generations, highlighting their confluence, their conflicts, and most importantly, their togetherness.”

Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi cast

The OG cast, Smriti Irani as Tulsi, Amar Upadhyay as Mihir Virani, Shakti Anand as Hemant Virani, Ritu Chaudhary as Shobha Virani Choudhary, Hiten Tejwani and Gauri Pradhan as Karan Virani and Nandini Thakkar Virani, and Kamalika Guha Thakurta as Gayatri Virani, will return to the show.

On the other hand, the new cast includes Rohit Suchanti, Shagun Sharma, Aman Gandhi, and Tanisha Mehta. 

The series is produced by Ekta Kapoor and her mother, Shobha Kapoor, under the banner of Balaji Telefilms.
