As promised, the makers of Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha have unveiled the second track from the film today. The track is titled Main Ki Karaan and is sung by Sonu Nigam.
The track opens with a voiceover of Khan, reminiscing about his first love. He talks about how we have no way of controlling memories, and doesnt seem to remember things like the day of his birth, his first Diwali and so on. But what he does remember is the time he heard the ‘sweetest sound in the world’, that of his first love. Then Nigam’s soulful vocals chime in,in a song that is an ode to ‘first love’.

Nigam had collaborated with Khan earlier, on songs such as Tanhaaye from Dil Chahta Hai and Tere Haath Mein from Fanaa. Nigam revealed that he had been approached by Pritam, who composed Laal Singh Chaddha’s soundtrack, who had told him that Khan was insistent on Nigam singing Main Ki Karaan. Talking about how his previous collaborations with Khan were ‘superhits’, Nigam said “I believe ‘Main Ki Kaaran’ is going to be another winner in our journey.”
The song has lyrics penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya. The first track from the film is called Kahani, and was released last month.
The upcoming film, which is a remake of the Tom Hanks starrer Forrest Gump, also features Kareena Kapoor Khan, Mona Singh and Chaitanya Akkineni. Advait Chandan has helmed the film, which has been produced by Aamir, Kiran Rao, and Viacom18 Studios.
Laal Singh Chaddha will be released in theatres on August 11 this year.
