Vishwak Sen’s latest film, Laila, has been receiving heavy trolling from all quarters. The comedy caper has turned out to be one of the biggest flops of his career. Released on February 14, 2025, Laila was directed by Ram Narayan and featured Akanksha Singh as the female lead.

With the film tanking at the box office, discussions about its OTT release have gained momentum. According to the latest reports, Amazon Prime Video has acquired the digital rights to the film for a decent price. Producer Shau Garapati has reportedly decided on an early OTT release, and as per sources, Laila will be available for streaming within three weeks of its theatrical release.
The film revolves around a beauty parlor owner, played by Vishwak Sen, who disguises himself as a woman to escape from goons. However, the so-called humorous execution of this premise has not resonated well with audiences. Critics have panned the film, and its theatrical run has been cut short, with multiple screens already dropping it from their lineup. To date, Laila has struggled to even cross the ₹3 crore mark, making it the lowest-grossing film in Vishwak Sen’s career.

Although the songs from the film garnered some attention and went viral, the film’s crass humor and adult content have drawn significant criticism. Many viewers have expressed disappointment, calling it tasteless and inappropriate. Additionally, Vishwak Sen himself has faced severe backlash, particularly because of the high expectations he set before the film’s release. His bold claims have now backfired, leading to online trolling.
