Movie buffs were surprised when Aishwarya Rajinikanth announced her return to direction with Lal Salaam, a project which Lyca Productions agreed to produce. Fans of Rajinikanth were excited when it was informed that the Superstar will play a crucial cameo in the movie.

AR Rahman's inclusion in the film as its music composer further elevated expectations on it. As if this wasn't enough, Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth were roped in to play lead roles in the movie. The two of them are avid cricketers in real life and the project is set against the backdrop of the sport.

The official launch of the film, which was unveiled sometime ago, brought cheer to Rajini fans and they have been awaiting updates on the project. Lyca Productions have now announced officially that the film is going on floors today on the occasion of Holi falling today.

They have unveiled a new poster, too, along with the announcement; it features a group of boys clad in all-white outfits seen fighting against each other. Going by the poster, Lal Salaam is likely to be the story of two avid cricket buffs who make it big in their lives amid various struggles they faced in childhood.

Vishnu Rangasamy has been roped in to crank the camera for the project while Ramu Thangaraj is at the helm of art direction. B Pravin Baaskar and Kabilan are handling editing and lyric writing respectively for the movie which is likely to be released this year.

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth is yet to complete the shooting of Jailer which is expected to hit the screens in August. His fans are eagerly waiting to know if the Superstar will be able to deliver two releases in 2023.
