It's a wrap on the shoot of Aishwarya Rajinikanth's upcoming directorial, Lal Salaam. The film, which is billed as a sports drama, has Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in the lead and has Superstar Rajinikanth making a special appearance. Aishwarya penned a heartfelt note on the wrap-up and thanked the Lal Salaam family for all the hard work. She also pointed out the coincidence of how the shoot started and ended at the same place, Tiruvannamalai.

Taking to her social media handle, Aishwarya Rajinikanth wrote, "9 kilos heavier …8 shades darker…7 months later…6 pm picture…5 times wiser and bolder…4 months of team work together…3 call sheets back to back last day with twenty two hours non stop shoot until dawn and wrap up over ! 2 my #lalsalaam family I thank you  for all the hard work …lastly 1 thing ..cannot be just coincidence..shoot began here and has concluded here with your blessings #annamalaiyaar re! #thiruvannamalai #thankful #grateful #blessed Off to the next stage…(sic)."

It was only a couple of days ago that Vishnu Vishal, who plays cricketer Thirunavukkarasu in the film, had shared a picture along with wife and badminton player Jwala Gutta, celebrating the completion of the shoot. He also called the Lal Salaam journey emotional and overwhelming.

Superstar Rajinikanth, whose upcoming Jailer is all set to hit screens tomorrow, will be making a cameo appearance in Lal Salaam. The actor took a break in Maldives after wrapping his portions.

His character in Lal Salaam was earlier revealed as Moideen Bhai. In a poster released by the team, Moideen Bhai is seen wearing a bandhgala sherwani and cap as riots take place in the background. The poster had already become a hit on the internet.

While music for Lal Salaam is by AR Rahman, the film is bankrolled by Lyca Productions.
