Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan 2 is the next big release for the production house
Rajinikanth and Ajith
Leading production house Lyca Productions is currently busy with a few projects. Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan 2 is the next big release for them. The much-awaited magnum opus will be released in theatres in five languages on April 28. They had recently announced their new project, Thiruvin Kural, starring Arulnithi and Bharathiraja in lead roles.
It is known that Ajith's next project AK 62 (tentative title) will be produced by Lyca. Though they had announced last year that Vignesh Shivan will be helming the movie, the filmmaker has been replaced by another person. Despite many suggesting that Magizh Thirumeni has bagged the opportunity, fans are waiting for an official announcement.
The production house has now revealed that they will be coming up with a huge surprise tomorrow. Fans of Ajith are already curious to know if it is going to be the much-anticipated announcement they have been waiting for a while.
Meanwhile, Rajinikanth fans, too, have a reason to get excited. The star had signed a two-film deal with Lyca sometime ago, and Lalsalam, which has the star's daughter at the helm, will feature the Superstar in a cameo. There are possibilities that tomorrow's update could be about Lalsalam as well.
Movie buffs have been trying to decode the information Lyca has put out on their Twitter handle with regard to the most-awaited announcement. While Lalsalam has AR Rahman scoring music, either Santhosh Narayanan or Anirudh is said to be a part of AK 62.
Lalsalam, which is yet to go on floors, might hit the screens later this year. Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth are playing lead roles in the movie which is based on cricket. AK 62, on the other hand, is being planned as a Deepavali release. The project is likely to take off from this month.
