Latest Malayalam releases (July 21 to July 27, 2025) to watch on JioHotstar, Prime Video, Netflix, Sony LIV, theatres and more

After the major release of Suresh Gopi-led JSK last week, Malayalam cinema appears to be in for a quiet week, at least as far as theatre releases are concerned. The sole Malayalam film to hit theatres this week is actor Aswin Jose’s Oru Ronaldo Chithram. But the lesser-known Malayalam film will be clashing with Fahadh Faasil’s Tamil film Maareesan and the Telugu biggie Hari Hara Veera Mallu at the ticket window. On the other hand, the digital space will see the release of director Shahi Kabir’s Ronth and actor Vinay Forrt’s Samshayam. Actors Roshan Mathew and Dileesh Pothan star as cops in this Malayalam film. Ronth follows the senior and junior cops as they go about their patrolling duty at night. Shahi Kabir has penned and directed this film, which was appreciated by the critics at the time of his theatrical release. For its realistic plot and terrific performances, the Malayalam cop film deserves to be on your watch list this weekend.

Samshayam 

Where to watch: Manorama Max 

OTT release date: July 25, 2025

The Malayalam film Samshayam, which literally means doubt, revolves around a couple who is plagued by a huge suspicion. They wonder if their newborn is indeed theirs! Actors Vinay Forrt, Sharaf U Dheen, and Lijomol Jose, who are known for their acting chops, lead this film, helmed by Rajesh Ravi. Another highlight of the movie is that it has music scored by Hesham Abdul Wahad of Hridayam fame.

Oru Ronaldo Chithram

The film revolves around a youth named Ronaldo, who aspires to be a filmmaker. Aswin Jose leads this film, which also features noted actors Indrans and Lal, both of whom were recently seen in the Malayalam series Kerala Crime Files Season 2. Chaithania Prakash and Hanna Reji Koshi are also part of Oru Ronaldo Chithram.
