With the release of Ajith Kumar’s Good Bad Ugly, theatrical releases will be laying low to let the big film complete its run. However, that being said, there are some notable Tamil films that you can watch this week, before a storm of new films that will hit theatres next week. We list out them for you here:

Yamakaathaghi – Aha Tamil (April 14)

Yamakaathaghi is a supernatural mystery thriller film with a slow burn take, helmed by director Peppin George Jayaseelan, in his debut. The film actors Roopa Koduvayur, Geetha Kailasam, Narendra Prasath, and others in important roles. The supernatural drama is about a young woman who dies suddenly by suicide. As her grieving family prepares for her funeral, the girl’s spirit and body does not leave the home, making people think that she has got some unfinished business with her family.

Naangal – Theatres (April 18)

Directed by debutant Avinash Prakash, this family drama which has had festival run, is a about a dysfunctional family consisting of three teenage sons and an authoritative and abusive father. The film features new faces; Mithun V, Rithik M, and Nithin D playing the three children, while Abdul Rafe and Prarthana S play the parents. Naangal explores the lives of the three boys who has to live under the harsh regime of their father inside their sprawling estate house in Ooty. Naangal opened to positive reviews during its festival screenings.

Murmur – Lionsgate Play (April 17)

Murmur is written and directed by filmmaker Hemnath Narayanan. The found footage horror film is about a group of adventurous YouTubers who go into a cursed forest to capture footage of the elusive "Seven Saptha Kannigal" and a vengeful spirit. However, their little trip turns upside down, with horror unleashed on them. The cast includes actors Richie Kapoor, Devaraj Arumugam, and Suganya Shanmugam, among others.
