Uppu Puli Kaaram – Disney+ Hotstar (ongoing)
Uppu Puli Kaaram is an ongoing web series which revolves around an elderly couple who run an eatery and live with their three daughters and a son. The show focusses on their daily lives as each of them have their own issues to tackle with, from a budding romance to workplace harassment. In between this, the elderly couple also have a secret of their own which is related to a famous actor. Four episodes are released every week.
Indian 2 – Netflix (tentative August 9)
Indian 2 is sequel to the 1996 film Indian. Kamal Haasan reprises his role as Senapathy, a former freedom fighter who wants to eliminate corruption from the society. Director Shankar has helmed the film which also stars Siddharth, SJ Suryah, Priya Bhavani Shankar, and others. The film will be getting a third part, Indian 3.
Turbo – SonyLIV (August 9)
Turbo is a Malayalam action film directed by Vysakh and written by Midhum Manuel Thomas. The film revolves around a driver who has to relocate to Chennai after a trouble. However, he gets further entangled in a series of problems later. It stars Mammootty, Anjana Jayaprakash, Raj B. Shetty, Sunil, Bindu Panicker, and others. The film will be available in Tamil for streaming.
Minmini – Theatres (August 9)
Minmini is written and directed by Halitha Shameem who has previously made Aelay and Sillu Karupati. The film revolves around a couple of teenagers who carry survivors' guilt. The film stars Esther Anil, Gaurav Kalai and others. Halitha had shot a few portions of the film and paused the production for her cast to grow up so that she can resume shooting with them.
Andhagan – Theatres (August 9)
Andhagan is the Tamil remake of hit Hindi film Andhadhun. The film revolves around a blind pianist who becomes the primary eye witness of a murder committed by an affluent house wife. The black comedy film stars Prashanth in the lead role along with Urvashi, Simran, Priya Anand, and others.
