A Vinoth Kumar has helmed the movie which will hit the screens on December 22

Vishal has been actively promoting his forthcoming project Laththi which will be released in theatres in multiple languages on December 22. The actor plays a police constable in the movie which also has him essaying the role of a father for the first time.
The film helmed by A Vinoth Kumar stars Sunainaa as its female lead. She is sharing screen space with Vishal after a decade's hiatus. The trailer of the movie was unveiled a few days ago, it is billed as an action drama which has loads of stunt sequences.
According to makers, the action choreography by National Award winner Peter Hein is going to be one of the highlights of the film. Vishal was in the news a couple of times when he got injured while performing for a few stunt scenes. The story of Laththi revolves around a stern cop who gets attacked by a group of goons after an unexpected incident.
How he saves himself and his school-going son from the dreaded criminals forms the rest of the story. Balasubramaniem and Yuvan Shankar Raja have handled cinematography and music respectively for the project. Ramana and Nandha have bankrolled the movie under Rana Productions.
The team has announced that Sun NXT has bagged the film's digital rights. Sun TV has acquired its satellite rights as well. Laththi is expected to have its digital premiere in January. The film is Vishal's second outing this year after Veeramae Vaagai Soodum which was released in February.
The actor is likely to have two releases in 2023 as well. Adhik Ravichandran's Mark Antony is expected to be his first release after which his debut directorial Thupparivalan 2 will hit the screens.
