Leading dance choreographers Prabhu Deva, Sandy join hands for Rekla; makers reveal BTS video

A few months ago, the makers of Prabhu Deva-starrer Rekla announced its title and motion poster through Arya's social media page. Billed as an action flick set against a rural backdrop, its shooting began a couple of months ago with an official ceremony. Mysskin had launched the project officially. 

Sibiraj-starrer Walter fame Anbu is directing the rural drama which is produced by Ambeth Kumar of Olympia Movies. Vani Bhojan was roped in to play the female lead in the project which will have music by Ghibran. The movie is Prabhu's 58th project as an actor.  

The team has now announced that leading choreographer Sandy has come on board to compose dance movements for the film. They also released a short video clip which has Prabhu imitating the moves choreographed by Sandy. The news of two popular dance choreographers joining hands has brought cheer among movie buffs.

Apart from lead actors, Robo Shankar is another artiste who will be seen essaying an important role in the film. Going by the motion poster, the movie's story seems to be revolving around the traditional sport rekla race. Fans of Prabhu are looking forward to the movie's first look and other updates.

It's been a while since the actor-filmmaker-choreographer has portrayed a rural avatar; the first look is likely to be out in a few months' time. He was last seen in Thael (streaming on Disney+ Hotstar) which was released in theatres earlier this year. 

Adhik Ravichandran's Bagheera, Santhosh P Jayakumar's Poikkal Kudhirai, Sam Rodrigues' Musasi, VS' Oomai Vizhigal, Don Sandy's Flashback and N Ragavan's My Dear Bootham are a few projects he currently has in his kitty. Among the half-a-dozen films, Bagheera is running high on expectations after the release of its trailer. The movie is expected to release later this year.
