Leo actress Priya Anand and Shiva's Kasethan Kadavulada gets postponed again

The film, starring Priya Anand and Shiva in the lead, is a remake of the 1972 film of the same name. The comedy caper is directed by Kannan, and the supporting cast includes Yogi Babu, Karunakaran, Urvashi, Sivaangi Krishakumar, Pugazh, Thalaivasal Vijay and Manobala in supporting roles. Though the makers had earlier announced that the film would hit screens on March 24, but on the release date, movie buffs were unable to book tickets for the film. It was then announced that the release would be pushed again. However, the team is yet to announce the new date.

The plot revolves around a young man who teams up with his friend to steal money from his stingy stepmother. The original film starred Muthuraman, Lakshmi, MRR Vasu, Thengai Srinivasan, Srikanth, Moorthy, Manorama, Rama Prabha and Jayakumari. The film marked the debut of theatreperson Chitralaya Gopu as a director. Interestingly, Muthuraman and Moorthy had reprised their characters from the play. Music for the film is by MS Vishwanathan, cinematography by KS Bhaskar and editing by R Gopu. Thengai Srinivasan's character as a fake godman was a huge hit among the audience.

The album features a remix of the old song, Jambulingame Jadaadaraa. Cinematography is by Prasanna Kumar. The satellite rights of the new film has been bagged by Sun TV and the digital rights by Sun NXT.

In the meantime, the film's leading lady Priya Anand is currently shooting for her next project, Leo. The team recently wrapped up their shoot in Kashmir and returned to Chennai. A video of the entire team gathered outside their hotel after an earthquake hit the region had recently made the rounds on social media. Shiva, in the meantime, has Single Shankarum Smartphone Simranum, Sumo, Saloon and Golmaal in his kitty. All these films are said to be comedy capers.
