Dhanush's bilingual flick Vaathi will be released in Tamil and Telugu on February 17, and makers are busy with last minute promotions. The Venky Atluri directorial is the first outing of Dhanush in 2023; the latter's fans are keeping their fingers crossed despite having pinned high hopes on the film.
The makers of the movie are planning to organize special premiere shows in Hyderabad, which is a first of its kind for a Dhanush-starrer. Samyuktha, Tanikella Bharani, Saikumar and Samuthirakani play crucial characters in the project which has music composed by GV Prakash.
Meanwhile, the team of Leo, starring Vijay in the lead, has come up with an idea to promote the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial through Vaathi. The promo video of the gangster flick which was unveiled recently has been attached along with Vaathi. Theatres playing Dhanush's movie will screen the Vijay-starrer's title announcement video.
This is a masterstroke from Lalit Kumar of Seven Screen Studio, the producer of Leo, who has also bagged the theatrical rights of Vaathi in Tamil Nadu. It is heard that he has plans to screen Leo's promo video across most of the theatres in the country to generate the required hype.
Leo is touted as a pan Indian project which will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada on October 19. The title will remain the same in all the four languages and Netflix has acquired the movie's digital rights a while ago for a record price.
Cinephiles are curious to know how team Leo's idea to collaborate with Vaathi's makers will pay off in the long run. Leo will be Vijay's second outing in 2023 after Varisu which was released on January 11.
