Thalapathy Vijay might have made a quiet debut on Instagram on Sunday evening, but the moment he made the big entry, he broke the internet and how! The Leo star has gone on to get 4 million followers within a span of a few hours and is counting. The actor's first post, which is a picture from the Kashmir schedule of Leo, has already set the internet on fire. The star looks dapper in black and white outfit and fans can't get enough of him. He captioned the picture, "Hello Nanbas and Nanbis (sic)."
Vijay is now part of the elite list that also includes the likes of Kim Tae-hyung, or 'V', of the South Korean boy band BTS, Angelina Jolie, Rupert Grint and Jennifer Aniston, who created a sensation as they joined Instagram. Malayalam actor Prithviraj was one of the first to welcome the actor. He wrote, "Welcome to the insta world brother @actorvijay! (sic)." Pathu Thala star Silambarasan TR, too, wrote, "Welcome to Insta #thalapathy @actorvijay na (sic)."
Vijay has an account on Twitter but he is not very active in it. During the audio launch of his last release, Varisu, Vijay had revealed that he doesn't know how to tweet and had asked his manager to post a selfie, which went on to send fans into a frenzy. Vijay's frank admission had won the hearts of many fans at that time.
On the film front, the actor is working on his upcoming film Leo directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The team is currently on a break after wrapping a long schedule in Kashmir. The next schedule is all set to begin in Chennai. The film has Trisha playing the leading lady, thus marking her comeback in a Vijay film after a long span of 14 years. The rest of the star cast includes Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja Gautham Menon, Mysskin, Priya Anand, Mansoor Ali Khan, Mathew Thomas, Sandy Master to name a few.
Music for the film is by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa and editing by Philomin Raj. The film is bankrolled by Seven Screen Studio.
