Leo: The overseas rights of Thalapathy Vijay, Lokesh Kanagaraj's movie sold for THIS amount. Details inside

The team of Leo has wrapped up its crucial Kashmir schedule a few days ago. The makers had unveiled a video as a tribute to its crew members for working tirelessly braving several odds in the spine-chilling weather. The much-awaited Chennai schedule of the film will begin soon.

The pictures of Sanjay Dutt, Trisha, Mysskin and Gautham Menon from the location in Kashmir were released by the team. Fans are now waiting to know which celebs' pics would be released during the next schedule. The gangster drama, starring Vijay in lead, will hit the screens in four languages on October 19.

The Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial is riding on huge expectations and Netflix has already bagged its digital rights a few months ago. The film is likely to clash with three much-awaited movies in Tollywood and one project in Bollywood. It is expected to have a solo release in Tamil Nadu. 

We now hear that Leo's overseas rights have been sold for a huge price. Vijay's previous outing Varisu was sold for a little more than 30 crores in the overseas markets. According to sources, a leading player has bought the rights of Leo for almost 60 crores. 

Though this appears risky for the distributor, a positive word of mouth is all it requires to set the cash registers ringing. Ponniyin Selvan 1 is currently the highest grossing Tamil film in overseas markets. Film buffs are eagerly waiting to know if Leo could surpass the benchmark set by the Mani Ratnam directorial.

The speculation surrounding the film being part of LCU and the alleged cameo appearance of a few stars have escalated the hype surrounding the movie like never before. The next big update on the project is likely to happen on June 22.
