Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay was shooting for his upcoming movie Leo when the earthquake tremors felt in Jammu and Kashmir. Several states in India felt the tremors after a 6.5 magnitude earthquake struck Afghanistan on Tuesday night. The tremors were felt in India for several seconds making everyone rush out of their buildings to open areas for safety.

"I'm in Kashmir now. And we felt the tremors here. Everyone was terrified and came running down from their hotel rooms. It looks so bad. We were all sleeping when the tremors struck. It's for the first time in my life I felt an earthquake. I was really terrified," said popular YouTuber Irfan in a video message.

Seven Screen Studio, the production house that is bankrolling Leo, also informed the fans that all cast and crew members were safe in Kashmir. "We are safe nanba - Team Leo," read the post.

Filmmaker Rathna Kumar, who is co-writing Leo, also tweeted a reaction to the earthquake. "BLOOODY #Earthquake," he wrote.

It's said that the tremors lasted for nearly one minute in Kashmir. "The team was in their respective hotels while they felt the tremors of the earthquake. Initially they thought it was because of the strong winds and later realized it was earthquake tremors. The ground shook for 45 seconds to 1 minute they said (sic)," tweeted actor and YouTube reviewer Prashanth Rangaswamy.

Vijay has been shooting in Kashmir for several weeks now. It seems the majority of the movie is set against the snow-covered backdrop of the valley. Earlier, Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt also joined the sets of Leo and shot for the film for a few days there. Just a few days ago, he completed his portions in the ongoing schedule and flew out of Kashmir

Leo is Lokesh's latest instalment to his blockbuster crime franchise. His last movie Vikram, starring Kamal Haasan, expanded the cinematic universe of drug lords that he started with Kaithi. Leo will further extend the universe and introduce us to several new characters.
