Leo writer Rathna Kumar takes a social media hiatus amid his speech in success meet courting controversy

Rathna Kumar, who made his directorial debut with Meyaadha Maan, went on to make Aadai, too, before he collaborated with Lokesh Kanagaraj for successful films Master, Vikram and Leo as co-writer. His third directorial project Gulu Gulu, which was released last year, ended up as an underwhelming outing.

His contribution to Leo has been garnering mixed responses, thanks to the ineffective latter half of the action drama. He co-wrote the movie along with Dheeraj Vaidya. The duo was present at the success meet of Leo which was held yesterday in Chennai.   

Rathna takes a dig at Rajinikanth?

His excitement went overboard while giving a speech at the event. He has always expressed his admiration for Vijay and one of the statements he made is considered to be an indirect troll at a comment that Rajinikanth made at the audio launch of Jailer. Fans of both the stars have been indulging in Twitter war for quite some time.

Rathna's speech left fans of Rajini furious. They also wondered if he is going to associate with Lokesh Kanagaraj's next which has the Superstar playing the lead. Several Rajini fans have been expressing their disappointment and anger towards Rathna on Twitter.  

Rathna informs about taking a break from social media

He has now taken to his Twitter page to convey the small break he is going to take from social media. He will be busy with writing for his next project. His tweet read, "Going offline for writing. Taking a break from social media until my next film announcement. See you soon (sic)."

The unexpected tweet left many cinephiles surprised. While a few wonder if the hiatus has something to do with a social media attack from Rajini fans, the uncertainty on his association with the Superstar's next (Thalaivar 171) is giving sleepless nights to some others.
