Lift release date: When and where to watch this thriller starring Kavin and Amritha

Vineeth Varaprasad's Lift evoked curiosity among movie buffs from the time the project was announced. The team had revealed earlier this month that the film, the shooting and dubbing of which were wrapped last year, was censored with a U/A certificate. The makers announced its OTT premiere only recently. 

Starring Kavin and Amritha in lead roles, the thriller will have a direct-to-OTT release on Disney+ Hotstar. The interesting trailer of Lift was unveiled by Sivakarthikeyan a few days ago, thus offering a glimpse into what the movie is going to be.   

Why is the film riding on high expectations?

Though Kavin had made his debut with Natpuna Ennanu Theriyuma a few years ago, he earned a huge fan base among Tamil audience after his participation in the reality show Bigg Boss Tamil 3. Every news featuring updates on his character and appearance from the movie were instantly lapped up by his hardcore fans on social media. 

A video which had him rehearsing dance movements for the film did the round on social media last year. Amritha, too, gained huge popularity among youngsters after her role in Vijay-Nayanthara-starrer Bigil received appreciation from several quarters.             

When is Lift premiering on the streaming platform?

The movie will premiere on October 1 and Kavin's fans have been taking to social media to express excitement on watching their favourite star on screen in a week's time. The trailer of the film which released recently had Kavin and Amritha, two software employees, getting trapped in their office lift in a huge building which is haunted. 

S Yuva has cranked the camera for the movie which has music composed by Britto Michael. G Madan and Stunner Sam have handled editing and action choreography respectively for the movie.
