Director Lingusamy, who made The Warriorr last year with Ram Pothineni in Tamil and Telugu, hit the headlines a few months ago for an unexpected reason. A metropolitan magistrate court in Saidapet in Chennai sentenced him for six months imprisonment after PVP Capital Limited, a financial firm, filed a cheque bounce case on him.

However, he filed an appeal after which the verdict was put on hold for sometime. Now, we hear that the Madras Principal Sessions Court has validated the verdict given by Saidapet Court. The filmmaker is expected to serve jail punishment, going by the legal proceedings.

However, he has now taken to his Twitter page to issue a clarification. The tweet begins with the statement, "I happened to come across many news articles on me on several media outlets. I felt it is my responsibility to give a clarification on various speculation doing the rounds."

He said that the issue is between PVP Capital Limited and his production house Thirrupathi Brothers Film Media Private Limited. Lingusamy acknowledges the latest court verdict and informs that he is planning to go for another appeal through proper legal means, thus indirectly clearing the air on reports of him going to jail.

The filmmaker, who has made many hit movies, continued to script successful stories with his production house as well. But some of his calculations went wrong and a couple of his directorial projects, too, didn't do well at the box office.

All hopes were pinned on The Warriorr, but the bilingual action drama, too, failed to meet expectations of the audience in Kollywood and Tollywood. Cinephiles are eager to know about his next legal plan and forthcoming project.
