Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph’s Neru is currently in its fourth week of an impressive theatrical run. Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran-starrer Salaar, Meera Jasmine’s Queen Elizabeth, and Vinay Forrt’s Aattam are also showing on various big screens across the state.

In Kerala, limited screens are showing the films Dunki, starring Shah Rukh Khan, and Animal, featuring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role. Amid all of these movies, theatres in Kerala are now gearing up for a busy week filled with a few major releases .

Abraham Ozler

This highly anticipated Jayaram film is directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas. The Malayali audience is looking forward to the actor making a huge comeback through this investigative thriller. In the first still from the film, the actor donned an intense and tough look as ACP Abraham Ozler IPS.

Captain Miller

Action movie enthusiasts and Dhanush fans alike expect Captain Miller to be an ideal Pongal treat. Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar and Priyanka Arul Mohan are also starring in this film, which is set in the pre-Independence era. In Arun Matheswaran's period action drama, Dhanush portrays Eesa, also known as Analeesan, or Captain Miller.

Ayalaan

Ravi Kumar's Ayalaan is touted as the first alien-themed film in India, with over 4,500 special effects shots. The story of the film centres around a young man from a small town who meets an Ayalaan (alien). Actor Siddharth has lent his voice for the alien. Yogi Babu, Karunakaran, Rakul Preet Singh, Isha Koppikar, and Sharad Kelkar are also playing prominent roles in this movie.

Merry Christmas

Director Sriram Raghava's thriller drama features Vijay Sethupathi and Katrina Kaif in lead roles. The film takes place on Christmas Eve, when two people's lives are drastically altered by a tragic day. This is Vijay's first film with Katrina Kaif and his comeback to Hindi cinema following Jawan, starring Shah Rukh Khan.

HanuMan

One of the most-anticipated Sankranthi films, HanuMan, centres around a bold youngster played by Teja Sajja and is set in the hilly town of Anjanadri. This superhero movie is set to be released in several languages, including Malayalam. Varalaxmi Sarath Kumar is also acting in a prominent role in this Telugu movie. The antagonist in this movie is portrayed by Tamil actor Vinay Rai.

Guntur Kaaram

This Mahesh Babu-starrer is expected to run on a few screens across Kerala. Guntur Kaaram has high expectations because the makers are portraying the actor in a rustic look. The cast also includes Jagapathi Babu, Jayaram, Sreeleela, and Ramya Krishnan.
