The festive season is in full swing. Traditionally, this is a time for family and friends. As we approach Diwali, there is a lowdown on romantic Bengali films that you can watch with your loved ones. From Srijit Mukherji’s underrated X=Prem to Anindya Chatterjee’s Prem Tame and Aritra Sen’s Ghore Pherar Gaan – each film has a unique storyline to melt your heart.
Khilat (Anindya Sengupta) and Joyee (Shruti Das) fall in love in college and get married. An accident takes away the memory of Khilat and Joyee becomes a stranger to him. The film takes a sci-fi turn at this point and ends up in a devastating romantic comedy. A must-watch from Srijit Mukherji’s directorial works.
Tora, beautifully portrayed by Ishaa Saha, travels to the UK after getting married to Ribhu (Gourab Chatterjee). Her love for music flourishes as she meets Imran (Parambrata Chatterjee). This Aritra Sen’s film will warm up your heart.

Anindya Chattopadhyay adapted his own novel to the big screen with a love story of two young adults – Raji (Susmita Chatterjee) and Pablo (Soumya Mukherjee). Raji’s Indie dog Khogen plays a catalyst in the film. Dotten with beautiful songs, this film will melt your heart.
The strength of Premendu Bikash Chaki’s film is in its simplicity. It features Ankush and Oindrila Sen in the lead pair. However, the comedy offered by Sohag Sen steals the show. The chemistry between Aparajita Adhya and Ranjit Mallick is also a treat to watch.
Directed by Anshuman Pratyush, the film stars Ankush Hazra and Alexandra Taylor. It delves into the life of a young Bengali man who lives with his partner in the UK without the knowledge of his parents. What happens when his parents discover his girlfriend?
