The Bangalore Days actor went on to act in several notable films but has not had much success at the box office in recent years. Nivin Pauly is now gearing up for two back-to-back projects - one with Akhil Sathyan and another with Arun Varma, titled Baby Girl. One of the most loved romantic-comedies, Thattathin Marayathu stars Nivin Pauly as Vinod who falls in love with a Muslim woman Aisha (Isha Talwar). The film is also noted for the hilarious scenes featuring Nivin and Aju Varghese, who plays his friend Abdu. Vineeth Sreenivasan has directed this film, which also features Manoj K Jayan, Sunny Wayne, and Sreenivasan.
A Malayalam-Tamil bilingual film, Neram stars Nivin Pauly with Nazriya Nazim. Mathew loses his job and is unable to repay the money he has taken from a moneylender. His troubles get doubled as the father of his lover, Jeena, also rejects their relationship. Manoj K. Jayan, Shammi Thilakan, and Lalu Alex are also part of the film, written and directed by Alphonse Puthren.
Written and directed by the ace filmmaker Abrid Shine, Mahaveeryar stars Nivin Pauly as Apoornananthan, a monk, who is accused of stealing a temple idol. The court scenes, with their quirky bunch of characters, are especially notable. Asif Ali, Lal, and Siddique are also part of the film.
The film follows Aalparambil Gopi, whose carefree life in Kerala gets a jolt after he is caught in a politically charged issue and is forced to go abroad. While Nivin plays Gopi, Dhyan Sreenivasan is seen as his best friend Malgosh. Dijo Jose Antony has directed this film.
Nivin Pauly joined hands with the ace filmmaker Geetu Mohandas for Moothon, which tracks a teenager as he sets out to find his elder brother Akbar who left for Mumbai. Nivin Pauly appears as Akbar in the film, which also features Sanjana Dipu, Roshan Mathew, and Sobhita Dhulipala.
Director Rajeev Ravi's movie is based on real-life events that occurred in Mattancherry during the 1940s, as the labourers' protests led to police firing. Nivin Pauly plays Moidu in the film, which has a strong ensemble cast with notable names such as Indrajith Sukumaran, Joju George, Arjun Ashokan, Nimisha Sajayan, Manikandan R. Achari, Poornima Indrajith, and Darshana Rajendran.
