L2: Empuraan
Prithviraj Sukumaran’s action thriller film marks the second installment of the planned trilogy. After Lucifer, Mohanlal is set to return with another riveting film. The long-awaited Lucifer sequel is currently in its final stage. Mohanlal will reprise his role as Stephen Nedumpally aka Khureshi Abraam with Prithviraj Sukumaran as Zayed Masood. Meanwhile, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, Manju Warrier, Sai Kumar, Baiju Santhosh, Shivaji Guruvayoor, and Saniya Iyappan will also reprise their roles in L2 Empuraan along with some new cast members. The movie is set to release on March 27.
Mammootty, Mohanlal, Mahesh Narayanan movie
Malayalam superstars Mammootty and Mohanlal are teaming up with editor-filmmaker Mahesh Narayanan for an upcoming film, tentatively titled MMMN. Touted to be an action-packed political thriller, the movie has already kickstarted its schedule in Sri Lanka. It is expected to drop this year and is among the big releases in the Malayalam industry. Fahadh Faasil and Kunchacko Boban will also play significant roles.
Daveed
Helmed by debutant Govind Vishnu, this upcoming action-packed film is headlined by Anthony Varghese in the lead. Essaying the role of a boxer, Varghese is set to deliver a solid performance. The plot revolves around a devoted father who fights for his daughter. The emotional elements add depth to this actioner and make it one of the awaited films for the year. It is expected to be released in February.
Alappuzha Gymkhana
Khalid Rahman’s sports film features Premalu actor Naslen K. Gafoor leading a stellar ensemble cast. The makers have elevated the excitement of fans with new character posters. Lukman Avaran and Ganapathi S Poduval will feature in pivotal roles for this knockout comedy film revolving around amateur boxers. It is set to premiere in theatres on April 11, 2025.
