LIVE Updates | IND vs SL, Asia Cup 2023 FINAL: India win by 10 wickets, lift their 8th title in style

India vs Sri Lanka

After days of matches and rain interruptions, the highly anticipated Asia Cup 2023 Final is all set to take place between India and Sri Lanka.

Scheduled for September 17 at Colombo's R Premadasa International Stadium, cricket fans have been buzzing with excitement.

Since their Asia Cup victory in 2018, India has not secured any multi-team trophies, making this opportunity all the more coveted for them.

Sri Lanka, ranked 8th in ODIs, will aim to prove that despite entering the ODI World Cup via qualifiers, they are a force to be reckoned with.

IND vs SL: India lift their 8th title in style

One could say, India finished off the game in between the expected shower spells.

It was an extraordinary display of bowling. Siraj's remarkable feat of claiming four wickets in a single over contributed to his overall figures of 6/21 in a splendid spell of 7 overs, leaving the Sri Lankan team in complete disarray.

Hardik Pandya finished things off taking three wickets.

Coming in to bat, Rohit sent Ishan Kishan to open with Shubman Gill. The two scored 20+ runs to help India lift their 8th title.

IND vs SL: WICKET - Hardik Pandya finishes things early

A short-of-a-length delivery outside the off-stump and Pathirana ends up slicing it right to the point fielder.

Kishan seizes the opportunity, and a jubilant Indian team makes their way back to the dressing room.

Embarrassing batting performance by Sri Lanka.

    Yet another wicket falls!

Hardik Pandya opts for a short, rapid delivery directed at the leg side.

Wellalage attempts to evade it but is caught off guard by the sheer pace.

IND vs SL: WICKET - Siraj is unstoppable

This spell of fast bowling by Mohammed Siraj has been scarcely believable.

He delivered a rapid inswinger that induced a slight inside edge as Mendis attempted a drive, ultimately demolishing the stumps.

IND vs SL: WICKET - Fifer for Siraj

That's a five-wicket haul in just 15 balls – it must be some sort of record!

Siraj executed it perfectly, consistently delivering full and wide deliveries, but then he surprised everyone by pitching one full at the middle stump and generating late movement.

The stumps rattled and the Sri Lankan skipper had to walk back for a DUCK.

IND vs SL: WICKET - Siraj is on FIRE, 4 wickets in an over

Four wickets in a single over – you don't witness that in an ODI very often!

DDS attempted a drive at a wide outswinger that he could have simply let go.

The ball found a faint edge, and Rahul completed the rest with a tidy catch.

IND vs SL: WICKET - 3 wickets in an over for Siraj

It's the third wicket in this over, and Siraj is on fire!

He delivered a full ball on the off-stump, which might have held up a bit, causing Asalanka to play his shot a touch early.

Asalanka ends up chipping it straight to Kishan, who is positioned at covers.

IND vs SL: WICKET - Siraj gets two in an over

Samarawickrama, who has been in great form, is dismissed without scoring a run!

Siraj delivered a fantastic inswinger, pitching it slightly fuller and getting it to sharply nip in.

The ball skidded through quickly, catching Samarawickrama off guard as he was late in attempting his shot and misjudged the line.

The ball struck him in front of the middle stump, and the ball tracking system confirmed that it would have gone on to hit the top of the leg stump.

It was a well-pitched length ball that moved inward, compelling Nissanka to make a stroke.

He managed to punch it, but with a slight opening of the bat face, directing it behind square.

Jadeja, positioned at backward point, displayed his extraordinary fielding skills by diving to his right.
