Lockdown, the 2026 Tamil film starring actor Anupama Parameswaran in the lead role, has now made its OTT debut. Prime Video has acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights of the film and you can stream the drama right now in three languages. Lockdown, as the name suggests, is set against the backdrop of Chennai during the tough times of Covid-19 pandemic. The film revolves around a young girl Anitha who comes from a middle-class family and aspires to uplift it by going to a job. In the process, certain circumstances lead Anitha becoming pregnant. The rest of the story is about how she and her friend go lengths to abort the foetus. The film is said to be based on true incidents and explores the difficulties in a young unmarried woman getting an abortion.

Lockdown is headlined by Anupama Parameswaran, along with a cast including Charlie, Nirosha, Priya Venkat, Livingston, Indhumathi, Rajkumar, Shamji, Lollu Sabha Maran, Vinayak Raj, Vidhu, Abhirami, Ravathi, Sanjivie, Priya Ganesh, Asha and others. Helmed by AR Jeeva, with music by NR Raghunanthan and Siddharth Vipin, the film is shot by cinematographer KA Sakthivel and edited by VJ Sabu Joseph.
