The actor and filmmaker expressed regret for dropping a chance to play a major role in the Kalyani Priyadarshan-starrer in an interview with a media outlet. He claimed that although the film's director Dominic Arun had told him about the movie, he was unable to accept the offer because of another film's commitment. This revelation has left moviegoers speculating if he would be offered another role in the next sequels of this franchise, even though he has not said which character he was supposed to play.
Basil, meantime, recently starred in Mohanlal's Hridayapoorvam, which debuted in theatres on August 28 alongside Lokah. Along with Meera Jasmine, Malavika Mohanan, and Sangeeth Prathap, he had a small role in this family entertainer. The actor's latest film was Maranamass , which is streaming on Sony LIV and OTTplay Premium.
Cameos in Lokah: Chapter 1-Chandra
Tovino Thomas portrays the enigmatic character Chaathan in the fantasy thriller, while Sunny Wayne plays the sorcerer Kathanar, who confines Neeli. They both had brief cameos in the movie, just revealing titbits of their characters. It is expected that the mystery behind Dulquer Salmaan's character and those of the other well-known actors in the film would be revealed in the upcoming sequels.
Anna Ben, Vishak Nair, Santhy Balachandran, Soubin Shahir, Balu Varghese and Ahaana Krishnakumar all had guest appearances in this movie. The Kalliyankattu Neeli, popularly known as Chandra, is portrayed by Kalyani Priyadarshan. Arun Kurian, Chandu Salimkumar, Naslen, and Sandy Master all play important roles in Lokah, which was co-written by actress Santhy Balachandran. Directed by Dominic Arun, the movie has already made over Rs 100 crore at the box office globally.
