Background story of the Jadhav family's ordeal

As per reports, the series is an account of the Jadhav family's harrowing journey from Bihar to Kenya's Molo, where they became entangled in the country's violent ethnic tensions. An unlikely hero from the Somali port town saves the passengers of a doomed ship captured by pirates.

According to the teaser, it offers a glimpse of gentle Sepia tones, soft lighting, and painstakingly constructed sets that recreate the nostalgic elegance of the 1950s. Calcutta brings the series, set in 1953, to life. 

Challenges faced during the production of Lootere

An example of the meticulous planning that went into producing Lootere, was developing three separate sets in Mumbai, Kolkata, and Dalhousie. A heavy blizzard near Dalhousie ruined a set, highlighting the obstacles experienced during filming.

An impressive cast, including Aamir Ali, Rajat Kapoor, Vivek Gomber, and Amruta Khanvilkar, starred in the series under the direction of Jai Mehta. Hansal Mehta served as the showrunner, and Shaailesh R. Singh was the creator and producer. On March 22, 2024, on Disney+ Hotstar, the enthralling tale of Lootere will begin to unfold.

Hansal Mehta and his team appear to have delivered on their creative vision with Lootere, a series that will captivate audiences while transporting them to a harsh, survival-focused universe.
