Love Today in Hindi: THIS leading Bollywood star is in talks to play the lead in the rom-com's remake version?

One of the big surprises Tamil cinema had in 2022 was the humongous success of Love Today, starring Pradeep Ranganathan and Ivana in lead roles. The rom-com helmed by Pradeep himself went on to become a huge hit, and surpassed the box office numbers of a few star heroes.

The chemistry between the lead actors, performances from Sathyaraj, Radhika Sarathkumar, Yogi Babu and Raveena Ravi among others and music by Yuvan Shankar Raja are a few major aspects which contributed to the movie's success. The film went on to garner appreciation even after its OTT release on Netflix earlier this month.

Its Telugu dubbed version, which was released under the same title, too, put up impressive numbers. The movie was widely received by young audiences as they could relate to the story, sequences, characters and dialogues in it. There were reports of the movie being remade in Hindi, though no details of it were out.

We now hear that Varun Dhawan is likely to play the lead in the Bollywood version and that Boney Kapoor has acquired the remake rights. An official confirmation is awaited on the same. The actor was recently seen talking about the film in a roundtable discussion.

Earlier this year, Boney Kapoor had produced two Tamil movies, Nenjuku Needhi and Veetla Visesham, which were remakes of Hindi films Article 15 and Badhaai Ho respectively. Now, he is gearing up for the release of Thunivu, starring Ajith Kumar, which will hit the screens on January 12.

Varun was seen in Jugjugg Jeeyo and Bhediya this year, two projects which garnered rave reviews for his performance. He will next be seen in Bawaal which is set to release in 2023.
