Pradeep Ranganathan's Love Today, starring himself and Ivana in lead roles, is turning out to be a big blockbuster at Tamil box office. The rom-com, which was released on Friday, surpassed other two projects which hit the screens on the same day in terms of word of mouth and footfalls.

The film, which went on to collect more than 4 crores on day one, has now grossed around 20 crores, and is poised to breach the 25 crore mark in the next two days. As per sources, the movie's second, third and fourth day collection is more than the opening day's numbers.

It is after a long time that a low budget Tamil movie is raking in huge figures at the box office. Most of the Kollywood projects which turned out to be super hits during the post pandemic era have been big ticket films or movies that had big filmmakers at the helm.

The performances of lead actors, background music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, racy screenplay, editing by Pradeep E Ragav and visuals by Dineshkumar Purushothaman are aspects which have attracted the audience. The team is now all set to release the movie in Telugu amid speculation of it being remade in Tollywood.

The makers have collaborated with leading producer Dil Raju for the release of Telugu dubbed version in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Love Today will be hitting the screens in the two states on November 18. Dil Raju is currently busy with the post-production works of Vijay's Varisu which will be released in January 2023.

Interestingly, the title Love Today was approved after the makers approached the team of the 1997 released movie with the same title which had Vijay starring as the lead.
