Dibakar Banerjee is busy promoting his upcoming intense drama film, LSD 2. The movie will be released in theatres on April 19. Dibakar and the film's producer, Ektaa Kapoor, recently appeared on the reality television show Bigg Boss. During a recent conversation with Anupama Chopra, the director discussed the significant influence and audience reach that Bigg Boss has that might help bring audiences to theatres to watch LSD 2.

Dibakar Banerjee on Bigg Boss bringing wider reach to LSD 2

When asked about his experience of being on Bigg Boss, Dibakar said that the very next day after the episode was aired, he was recognised in the elevator of his apartment complex and people asked him about LSD 2. He feels that this increased visibility will help get more people to watch his film in theatres.

Adding to this, Dibakar revealed that before going on the show, Ektaa had asked him to not speak too much as they were there to announce the film's release and look for potential actors to cast in the film. He said, “Its Bigg Boss; we are talking about casting; we are talking about that world; it is a part of LSD 2 the film.”

In the same conversation, when asked about his relationship with Ektaa Kapoor, Dibakar revealed that he does not know why Ektaa supports him. He added that Ektaa knows she won't make too much money from LSD 2 and that the film is going to be very hard to sell. He said, “She knows subversion and I feel like Ektaa wants to keep on doing stuff like this."

LSD 2 is the sequel to Dibakar’s 2010 crime-thriller film Love Sex Aur Dhokha. Mouni Roy, Anupam Joardar and Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia star in the film, which is a satire on modern relationships in contemporary society that is obsessed with technology and computer screens.
