With Maanaadu just days away from its worldwide release in theatres, the Silambarasan starrer recently saw its pre-release trailer hit the internet. This comes soon after its pirated version was leaked on the internet, yesterday.

Talking about the latest trailer of Maanaadu, it features Silambarasan in an excruciating time loop which starts from him waking up inside an airplane and ending up at a political rally (or maanaadu in Tamil) with a gun in his hand and a troubled look. Every time this happens, the political leader (played by SA Chandrasekhar) ends up getting shot on his forehead. The short clip tries to explain to us that he was sent to the rally on purpose to stop it from happening. What follows next is a series of scuffles between him and the police and his other enemies. We also get to see Sj Suryah’s avatar as a police avatar delivering a catchy dialogue in his own style.

The pre-release event of Maanaadu, which took place in Chennai yesterday, was a final get-together of the team of the political thriller, where its cast members, from Silambarasan to SJ Suryah, shared anecdotes about their filming days with each other. The trailer, which was initially screened at the event, was secretly filmed by an individual and leaked on social media, which proved to be unfortunate for the makers.

Helmed by Venkat Prabhu, Manaadu boasts of an ensemble cast including SJ Suryah, Kalyani Priyadarshan, SA Chandrasekhar, Y Gee Mahendra, Premji and Karunakaran, among others. Backed by V House Productions of Suresh Kamatchi, the music is by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Don’t forget to catch the show on big screens on November 25.
