We had earlier reported that actors Vadivelu and Fahadh Faasil will once again team up after Maamannan, for a film titled Maareesan. With the film set to hit theatres in July, the makers also revealed the OTT partner of the film. Streaming giant Netflix has bagged the post-theatrical rights of the Vadivelu and Fahadh Faasil starrer.

Maareesan OTT partner locked

Maareesan, the upcoming Tamil film starring Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu in the lead roles, is in the making as we had reported earlier. The film marks the reunion of the two powerhouses of talent, since Maamannan.

The makers recently revealed that the film will release in July, with a date yet to be set. Netflix has bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights and Maareesan will be available to run after the film finishes the theatrical run. Directed by Sudheesh Sankar, the film is bankrolled by RB Choudary under Super Good Films banner. Maareesan is the 100thventure of Super Good Films.

Maareesan’s technical team consists of Yuvan Shankar Raja, who will be scoring the music for the film, while Kalaiselvan Sivaji is on board to crank the camera. The film’s editing will be handled by Sreejith Sarang. A new poster released shows Vadivelu with blood oozing from an injury near his forehead, starring right into the eyes of Fahadh Faasil who is also sporting an intense look.

As you wait for Maareesan to release, you can stream Maamannan, a political drama starring actors Fahadh Faasil, Vadivelu, Udhayanidhi Stalin and Keerthy Suresh in the lead roles. The film is available on Netflix and is written and directed by filmmaker Mari Selvaraj.

Maamannan is a political drama, which talks about the caste oppression which is prevalent among the cadres of a political party. Fahadh Faasil played the antagonist in the film, with AR Rahman scoring the music.
