Maargan, the recently released Tamil crime thriller film starring actor Vijay Antony in the lead role made its streaming debut. The film is available for watching on Prime Video in multiple languages. If you have not watched the film in theatres, then you can stream Maargan as your weekend watch. Here are reasons why you can watch the film.

The screenplay of Maargan follows the typical format of a crime thriller, but it sets up the premise in an interesting manner. The film takes off from the murder of a woman, and keeps its focus tight on the investigation. Maargan follows a linear method of narration for most, by balancing the story and interest in the screenplay, to keep audience edge of the seat.
Maargan is essentially a crime thriller which revolves around a cop investigating a series of killings that take place in a similar fashion. While Vijay Antony’s Dhruv is a high-ranking officer who is out to nab the killer, his probe takes him to a young and brilliant swimmer with an exceptional memory. While all clues point towards him as the killer, Maargan mixes detective fiction and supernatural power of the swimmer to build on the rest of the story.

Maargan talks about a persistent social issue that is plaguing the society. The film talks about the society’s obsession over fair skin. But what has that got to do with the serial killings form the rest of the story. With the victims being left black skinned, it further adds to the suspense in the film. However, Maargan does not foreshadow any of these, while sticking to the crime thriller genre.
The film being a crime thriller, does not waste time to get into its genre. Right from the first frame, Maargan manages to delve into the story about the killings. For major portions of the film, Maargan concentrates on the police and how they begin to piece the clues together to solve the case.
