Sivakarthikeyan's superhero film Maaveeran is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The film, helmed by Madonne Ashwin, has just dropped on the OTT platform (August 11) and has taken the platform by storm. Interestingly, the Sivakarthikeyan film had its theatrical release on July 14 and this means that the film has had its digital premiere before the completion of its one-month period before the OTT release.
The Jailer connection!
What's interesting is that the film was earlier slated to have its theatrical release on August 11, but the team decided to change the plans and advanced the date to July 14. The change in plan happened after Rajinikanth's Jailer team announced the film's release on August 10. Now, Sivakarthikeyan's film has its digital premiere a day after Jailer release. It was only yesterday that Sivakarthikeyan had shared a video in which he stated that Rajinikanth was all praise for Maaveeran.
Maaveeran plot
The plot revolves around Sathya, a cartoonist from a lower middle class family, who receives an unusual power overnight, which changes his life altogether. When Sathya's sketches on the fictional character Maaveeran come to life, there is a sudden burst of energy in Sivakarthikeyan and his character undergoes a sea change.
This is the first time that Vijay Sethupathi's voice is being used as a voiceover in a Sivakarthikeyan. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that everytime Vijay Sethupathi said 'Veerame Jayam' the theatre broke into a thunderous applause.
Sophomore project of Madonne Ashwin
Maaveeran marks National Award-winning director Madonne Ashwin's sophomore project as a director. While the film's music is by Bharath Shankar, cinematography is by Vidhu Ayyanna, who has used the the Mocobot camera, which was used in films including Vijay's Beast and Kamal Haasan's Vikram.
