How far has an actor gone to prepare for their film as a part of method acting? Has anyone ever had a real spider bite them in order to play a Spider-Man spin-off character? Well, 'method actor' might as well be Sydney Sweeney's middle name, considering what she's done. Sweeney, who stars in Sony’s Madame Web alongside Dakota Johnson, has revealed that she was actually bitten by a real spider and the director and team thought that she was acting. And to our collective surprise, this didn’t even happen on the sets of Madame Web.

Sony is leaving no stone unturned in taking the Spider-Man universe forward, especially after the success of Marvel’s Spider-Man: No Way Home. Madame Web is one of the handful of spin-offs that they have been working on. Ready to release, the Dakota Johnson series will help raise a new hero in the Spidey realm. Sydney Sweeney will have a pivotal role to play. And now, as per her new revelation, she even got bitten by a real spider.

But this was on the sets of Anyone But You also starring Glen Powell. Talking about this on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show, she said, "So, it's a Huntsman Spider, which is huge. You're going to laugh after you see this. So, they told me it was trained. I don't know how you train a freaking spider. There's no way. So, we're filming and the thing just starts biting me. But, we're in the middle of the scene and I'm supposed to be screaming. Then, my screaming got a little serious.”

She added, “They thought I was making really serious dramatic choices in a rom-com," she said. "No one called cut. So, I'm just standing there with a spider on my arm biting me and I'm screaming and just everyone is watching. Glen [Powell] was the only one who was like, whoa, I think this is a little real."

After showing the crowd video footage from the incident, Sydney Sweeney said, “That was like a soul scream. I thought I was going to die. Well, I was it; it’s poisonous, I am going to die.”
