The trailer of Madharaasi was released by the makers, and many have been praising actor Sivakarthikeyan’s action avatar in the film, directed by AR Murugadoss. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on September 5. With the trailer mostly having action blocks and intense scenes, AR Murugadoss had managed to insert a ‘thuppakki’ reference in a not-so-direct way. And we already know how Sivakarthikeyan got his thuppakki from Vijay himself about a year ago.
Only about a year ago on September 5, Vijay’s The GOAT released in theatres, and Sivakarthikeyan made a cameo appearance during the climax. The scene was much talked about given it showed how Vijay handed over his ‘thuppakki’ to Sivakarthikeyan and many inferring that it is symbolic how Vijay is handing over his cinematic place to the latter with him going towards politics.

Incidentally, Thuppakki also happens to be directed by AR Murugadoss who is helming Madharaasi as well. Set to release on September 5 in theatres, a year after The GOAT, the makers of Madharaasi released the trailer of the film. Vidyut Jammwal’s character in the trailer says, “thuppakki evan kaila irundhalum, villain naa dhan da” (no matter who is holding the gun, I’m the villain). Interestingly, Vidyut played the antagonist in Thuppakki returns to Madharaasi as well to play the villain.
