Mahima Nambiar, who works in Tamil and Malayalam cinema, is reaping the laurels for her skilled performance in Santhakumar’s Magamuni. The Tamil film is being lapped up with open arms in international film festivals and is also winning awards.

A few weeks ago, Mahima bagged the Best Supporting Actress award at the International Film festival Madrid IIF 2021. She essayed the female lead Deepa in the film opposite Arya and competed with actors from many countries before winning. Now, validation comes from the Toronto Tamil International Film Festival 2021. She has bagged the Special Jury Award: Outstanding Performance - Award for Best Supporting Actress for the film Magamuni. Santhakumar clinched the Jury Award for the Best Feature Film Director at the festival.

Basking at the award, the actor took to Instagram to share the news, thanking Santhakumar for having faith in her acting.

The actress is thrilled and she took to her social media page to share her excitement. On social media, she also thanked the director of the film for believing in her.

The post read, "Thank you @Santhakumar_Dir for believing in me and giving me the confidence to dub for myself ‘Toronto Tamil International Film festival’, Canada. Special Jury Award for Outstanding Performance for “Best Supporting Actress #magamuni (sic)."

Many of her fans wished her well and congratulated her on the achievement on social media.

The Kerala girl debuted in the Malayalam film Kaaryasthan when she was 15. She made her Tamil debut in the 2012 film Saattai when she was studying in class 12. Mahima essayed the lead role of a village school girl Arivazhagi in the film and after finishing, school got back to acting.

She has few Tamil films in the lineup like Oh My Dog and Ayngaran, where she will be seen as the lead opposite GV Prakash.
