Magudam: Vishal steps in for Ravi Arasu as co-director? Filmmaker post reveals being part of project

We had earlier reported that actor Vishal will be headlining a Tamil film titled Magudam. At the time of the announcement, it was revealed that Vishal-starrer will be helmed by Ravi Arasu. However, a new video from the sets of Magudam has emerged, revealing Vishal stepping into the shoes of the filmmaker.

Magudam: Vishal doubles up to wield megaphone?

Magudam is an upcoming Tamil film headlined by actor Vishal. Last seen in this year's first blockbuster Madha Gaja Raja, Vishal announced teaming up with filmmaker Ravi Arasu who has made films like Eetti and Ayngaran. However, in a latest video doing rounds on social media, Vishal is seen to be directing the film. As per reports, Ravi Arasu and Vishal had a difference of opinion with the latter taking up the reins of the project. An official announcement on the same is expected to come out with the next update about the film. Ravi Arasu took to social media to share photos of a temple visit for Magudam. It looks like Vishal is working as co-director for certain portions.

This also means that Magudam will mark the first time Vishal will be working as a director, thus marking his debut. The upcoming feature marks the actor’s 35th film. Earlier, the first look poster of Magudam was released, which featured Vishal in three getups. The actor is expected to appear in different looks in the film.

A release date for Magudam is yet to be fixed. But given the production is still underway, it is doubtful if the Vishal-starrer will release this year. Dushara Vijayan, seen in films like Raayan and Vettaiyan, pairs up with Vishal in the film, with GV Prakash scoring the music. Anjali and Yogi Babu also appear in important roles.
