The much-awaited first look poster for Dhruv Vikram's character from the upcoming film Mahaan has just dropped. The makers of the Karthik Subbaraj movie, which also stars Vikram, released the poster and a video reel on social media.

The first look poster has Dhruv standing tall in a yoga pose, shirtless and staring directly at the camera, in a menacing look. A dragon is wrapped around the actor in the poster, which reveals that he will play a character named Dada in the movie.

The video reel on the other hand starts off with a few dancers in costumes. The clip comes with selective colouring, where red is emphasised in the black and white video, which we have seen Karthik use in his previous films as well. The video then moves to Dhruv meditating on top of a terrace. The video is backed by music from Santhosh Narayanan that incites both excitement and a feeling of dread.

Bankrolled by SS Lalit Kumar under the banner of Seven Screen Studio, Mahaan will reportedly follow a story of revenge, and will touch upon a father-son relationship. The poster reel video also uses a couplet from Thirukural that reads, “The son to sire this word is debt. What penance such a son begot.”

Marking Vikram’s 60th movie, Mahaan will also feature Simran, Vani Bhojan and Bobby Simhaa in important roles. The gangster thriller will also mark the first time Vikram and son Dhruv share screen space.
