The Malayalam film, Maharani, has made its OTT debut more than a year after its theatrical release. The movie, which stars Roshan Mathew and Shine Tom Chacko in lead roles, is now streaming on Manorama Max.

It was expected that the movie, which debuted in theatres in November 2023, would be available online considerably earlier. However, for unspecified reasons, it was postponed. It was previously confirmed that Manorama Max had acquired the film's digital rights. On June 21, Maharani started streaming on the platform from 1 pm. Starting on June 27, Sreenath Bhasi's Azadi will also be available on Manorama Max.
Maharani's plot and cast details
The story is set in Kinassery, a fictional village in Kerala's Alappuzha district. It centres on a dispute between two individuals that turns into a fight between two families and, ultimately, a riot in their neighbourhood. According to the trailer, Shine and Roshan play Aji and Viji in the movie.
The duo are close to each other, supporting one another. Viji is in search of a companion who would assist him improve his tough financial circumstances, while Aji anticipates eloping with his girlfriend, Rani. However, Aji's family accuses the two men and their circle of acquaintances of being responsible for the disappearance of Rani. The main plot point of the film is how Aji and Viji, in their desperation to find Rani, end up clearing the bad image due to this chaos. Overall, Maharani can be an enjoyable family entertainer to see this weekend.
This family drama was directed by G. Marthandan. His prior directorial is Kunchacko Boban-starrer Johny Johny Yes Appa. Supporting actors in the movie include Balu Varghese, Pramod Veliyanad, Jaffer Idukki, Harisree Ashokan, Kailash, Gokulan, Sminu Sijo, Sruthy Jayan, Unni Lalu and Ashwath Lal. The script was created by Ratheesh Ravi, who has written screenplays for Adi and Ishq. The soundtrack for Maharani was composed by Gopi Sundar.
