Prior to its big screen debut, the makers of Azadi put a lot of work into settling on their digital streaming service. It was disclosed that Manorama Max had acquired the digital rights. Due to a recent trend where OTT platforms prefer to purchase Malayalam films after they have been released and exhibited in theatres, many of these films have not yet had their digital premiere.
The teaser for Azadi suggests that the drama of survival takes place in a hospital. Renowned voice actor Raveena portrays an expectant mother who serves time for killing an influential political leader's son in his own home, while Lal seems to be a father seeking retribution for his daughter. Sreenath Bhasi wants to assist Raveena's character in getting out of jail. Vani Viswanath plays a significant role in this thriller as a police officer.
Jo George makes his directorial debut with this movie, which also stars Saiju Kurup in a significant role. Vijayakumar, Mala Parvathi, Gilu Joseph, Abhiram Radhakrishnan, T G Ravi, Rajesh Sharma, Asha Madathil, Shobi Thilakan, and Boban Samuel are Azadi's supporting cast members. The thriller's screenplay was written by director Sagar. This film was financed by Faizal Raja under the Little Crew Production label.
