The buzz around Eid and Bollywood this time is back to being about one massive clash that happens almost every year. After the pandemic, 2024 might be the year it gets revived into a yearly ritual back again. This time around the clash is between two of Bollywood’s biggest stars, Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn. The latter is coming to the big screen with his long-awaited movie Maidaan, which has been in the making and then in the post-production hell for a very long time now.
Now as it inches closer to the release on April 10, it turns out the Amit Ravindernath Sharma directorial has managed to create a good buzz around itself because the advance booking of the movie has shown a very positive trajectory now.

Maidaan starring Ajay Devgn was already a much-anticipated movie, and now as it moves toward release, the anticipation has, of course, intensified. If the latest reports are to go by, the advance booking of the Ajay Devgn-starrer that opened recently has shown a very interesting trajectory as the movie has managed to sell a good number of tickets and is already Rs 22.09 lakh strong for the first day of release itself, which is Thursday, April 10.
As per an NDTV report, Maidaan has so far sold 9,942 tickets for the opening day. The movie is being released in 2D screens and also the IMAX format. The ratio of the tickets says that 9,813 tickets are that of 2D, and 129 are booked in the IMAX format. This is a very positive progress for the movie.
Comparison With Bade Miyan Chote Miyan
Maidaan is all set to clash at the box office with Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff-starrer Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. In comparison, the Ajay Devgn-starrer is far behind the Akshay Kumar actioner. The reason is also that the advance booking for BMCM began much before Maidaan. BMCM was already Rs 62 Lakh strong on day one on Sunday, which means Maidaan has a considerably big void to fill to be a winner.
