Ranveer Allahbadia has found major relief from Supreme Court, for the YouTuber is allowed to resume his podcasts. Even though he is allowed to continue his podcasts, there's a restriction on BeerBiceps' work. He is warned against using foul language in the name of humour.

Ranveer Allahbadia allowed to continue his podcasts

On Monday, March 03, the Supreme Court dismissed the plea to cancel Ranveer Allahbadia's podcast channel. The court noted that a lot of employees' livelihood depends on the podcast channel running while passing the judgement. Abhinav Chandrachud, who was representing the podcaster previously, pleaded before the court to allow his client to host podcasts by stating, "He has many employees. This is his livelihood, not comedy. I understand he has no sense of humour. But he interviews people."

What are the restrictions for BeerBiceps to smoothly continue his podcast?

While he is allowed to continue with the means of his livelihood and employ other people, there are some rules that Allahbadia, who runs his podcast under the name of BeerBiceps, must follow.

Ranveer Allahbadia aka BeerBiceps is free to run his podcast channel 'subject to morality and decency.' Dismissing the plea from Solicitor General Tushar Mehta (appearing for the state) to let Allahbadia stay quiet for some time since he was guilty by association, the court observed, "He is saying there are multiple employees, so there are families whose livelihood is in question. Subject to maintaining morality and decency, if he wants to run a program, we can say he can."

Using foul language is not humour: SC

The Supreme Court also said that freedom of speech has its limitations and using foul language is not humour. The bench cited the example of excellent comedians in Bollywood and good writers in the industry who understand humour. "Fundamental rights also come with duties. Country gives guarantee to enjoy fundamental rights but there are also some duties," the bench declared.
