Makers of GV Prakash-Ivana film Kalvan announce release date with a quirky promo

We had previously reported that composer-actor GV Prakash will be headlining an upcoming Tamil film titled Kalvan. The makers of the film, on Monday, announced that the film is set to hit theatres on April 4 by releasing a quirky promo.

Kalvan is helmed by director PV Shankar and is bankrolled by G Dilli Babu under Axess Film Factory. The film also stars Bharathi Raja, Ivana, Dheena, among others.

The makers of Kalvan announced that the film will be hitting big screens on April 4 by releasing a quirky promo. In the video, one can see Dheena sticking poster on a wall that already has bills wanting to capture him and GV Prakash. The latter is heard boasting to Dheena about the inability to capture them as they will be making a visit on April 4. In another scene, a man is warning villagers to be aware on the said day after the robbers announce they will be visiting the place.

The makers had earlier released the teaser of Kalvan. It shows that a village is at risk and the people asking for protection from wildlife. The teaser shows GV Prakash trusted with a task that he has to carry out in secrecy.

Kalvan is directed by PV Shankar. Besides GV Prakash, the film also stars Bharathi Raja, Ivana, Dheena, G Gnanasambandam, Vinoth Munna, among others. GV Prakash will also be scoring the music for the film which is produced by G Dilli Babu under Axess Film Factory.

With Shankar also taking care of the cinematography, he has written the story along with Ramesh Aiyappan. SJ Arjun and Sivakumar Murugesan have worked on the additional screenplay of the film. Raymond Derrick Crasta has edited Kalvan. The post-theatrical rights of Kalvan is bagged by Disney+ Hotstar. 

Meanwhile, GV Prakash is currently awaiting the release of Rebel. The film is set to hit theatres on March 22. Directed by Nikesh RS, Rebel is expected to be a period political drama.
