Malaikottai Vaaliban marks Mohanlal's first collaboration with Lijo Jose Pellissery
Malaikottai Vaaliban, the highly anticipated period fantasy film that stars Mohanlal in the titular role, is gearing up for a massive release on January 25, 2024. The project, which is helmed by renowned filmmaker Lijo Jose Pellissery, is now winning the internet with its promising official trailer which was released yesterday (January 18). From the trailer, it is evident that Malaikottai Vaaliban is going to be a unique cinematic experience for the audience.
As per the recent updates, Malaikottai Vaaliban is now performing exceedingly well when it comes to its pre-sales. The movie has been witnessing excelling advance booking rates, thanks to the excellent promotional campaign.
As per the latest updates, the Lijo Jose Pellissery directorial has now crossed the Rs 1 crore mark with its pre-sales in less than 24 hours. The latest reports by the Southwood X handle suggest that the Mohanlal starrer has made more than Rs 40 lakh in pre-sales in Kerala alone. When it comes to its overseas advance bookings, the movie has made around Rs 80 lakh.
Notably, the advance bookings have not begun in many release centres across Kerala yet. The rest of India's bookings have also not yet opened. In that case, Malaikottai Vaaliban has all the chances to set some major records with its advance booking sales, considering that still 6 days are left for the film’s grand release. It is safe to assume that the period fantasy drama has all the chances to make at least around Rs 10 crore with its advance booking sales alone.
Considering the excellent pre-sales rate, which is only going to get better, and the extraordinary pre-release hype, it is clear that Malaikottai Vaaliban is set to have a massive opening at the box office. As reported earlier, Mohanlal’s ambitious project is set to have a record number of releasing centers in most of its overseas centers. Things are not different in Kerala, where the period fantasy film is expected to have around 600 screens.
Along with the enormous release, Malaikottai Vaaliban is also set to have around 100 fans shows across Kerala on its release day, at 6 AM and 7 AM. If the movie receives a positive response after its initial shows, things are going to get only better. The Lijo Jose Pellissery directorial is set to be released in three languages, including Malayalam, Tamil, and Hindi.
