We had reported earlier that Golmaal, directed by Pon Kumaran, will hit the screens as a summer release in 2022. The comic caper stars Jiiva, Shiva, Tanya Hope and Payal Rajput in lead roles. Yogi Babu, Naan Kadavul Rajendran, Ramesh Khanna, Karunakaran and Murali Sharma, too, will be seen essaying key roles in the movie.

Produced by B Vinod Jain under Jaguar Studios, the film which was officially launched a month ago, went on floors recently in Mauritius. In a chat with OTTplay, Vinod had earlier told us that the movie which is tipped as a fun-filled entertainer has Saravanan and Aruldev cranking the camera and composing music respectively.

The latest on the movie is that actress Malavika, who debuted with Unnai Thedi (streaming on MX Player), and known for her notable roles in Chandramukhi (streaming on Sun NXT, MX Player and Jio Cinema), Vasool Raja MBBS (streaming on MX Player) and a few other projects, is making a comeback with the project.

One of her last notable appearances was Kuruvi (streaming on Amazon Prime Video and YouTube), which released in 2008. The film had her shaking a leg with Vijay for the peppy song Dandaana Darna.

Golmaal will have her play a bold and independent character, as Jiiva's boss. It is heard that she will join the movie's shoot in December in Mauritius. The makers had earlier told us that they chose Mauritius as the project's location as Kollywood hasn't explored the island nation much.

They said, "Many exotic places in Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia among other countries have been explored to a good extent in Tamil cinema. We felt Mauritius would be a good location with regard to offering never-before-seen visuals for the audience."
