Almost two years after Janaki Jaane, Malayalam actress Navya Nair returns to the big screen with Paathirathri which also features Soubin Shahir in a lead role. The noted actors play two cops whose lives take a terrifying turn after a crime is committed one midnight (Paathirathri in the title). The film is also noted as it marks Ratheena PT’s return to the director’s chair after Puzhu with Mammootty. If you are looking for a gripping story that would keep you on the edge of your seat, Paathirathri would be your best bet this Diwali.

Sharafudheen once again leads a fun ensemble cast of actors as he attempts to don the detective hat but with hilarious results. Anupama Parameswaran too joins him in this zany ride after the tumultuous journey of Janaki V vs State of Kerala. Praneesh Vijayan has directed the movie, which also features Vinay Forrt and Shyam Mohan. Pet Detective promises to be the perfect pick for those seeking mindless entertainment that matches their festive vibe.

Filmmaker Sajin Baabu, best known for the award-winning Biriyaani, helms Theatre: The Myth of Reality which already made its world premiere at the Eurasian Bridge International Film Festival. Rima Kallingal leads the film which has already fetched her the Kerala Film Critics Association Awards for Best Actress. Sarasa Balussery plays the other lead role in the film, which narrates the ordeal of two women living on an island.

Dirshyam director Jeethu Joseph is back with another mysterious tale. But not Mohanlal, Asif Ali and Aparna Balamurali lead this film. Abhirami is distressed after her fiance disappears, but there is a deeper mystery surrounding his disappearance. But despite a star director and noted actors, Mirage did not turn out to be a crowd puller at the cinemas. But the makers would be hoping that the film would win more appreciation upon its OTT debut.

Asif Ali leads this film, which seeks to narrate the story from the POV of ‘victim’ husbands. A married couple and the problems that lead them to the court are examined in the film, with a dose of humour. Newcomer Thulasi joins senior actors Jagadish, Harisree Ashokan, Azees Nedumangad, and Sidharth Bharathan in this film, which is penned and directed by Sethunath Padmakumar.
