Malayalam superstars Mammootty and Mohanlal released the title poster of director KR Praveen’s upcoming movie Kuri today through their social media pages. The film, which is scripted and directed by Praveen, is backed by Kokers Media Entertainment.
Kuri, which went on floors today at Vandiperiyar, has Vishnu Unnikrishnan, National Award-winner Surabhi Lakshmi, Vishnu Govindan, Vinod Thomas and Sagar Surya, who was most recently seen in the Prithviraj Sukumaran-starrer Kuruthi.
Kuri has Vinu Thomas handling its music department while Santosh C Pillai is its cinematographer. The movie, which largely consists of a young crew, has dialogues by Harimohan G.
Vishnu Unnikrishnan, whose previous release was Krishnankutty Pani Thudangi that is streaming on ZEE5, has a host of releases lined up including Sabhash Chandra Bose, Red River, Rendu and Anuradha Crime No 59/2019. The actor will also be teaming up with his friend and Amar Akbar Anthony co-scriptwriter Bibin George for a movie that is scheduled to go on floors next month.
Surabhi, meanwhile, is awaiting the release of Padma, which is scripted and directed by Anoop Menon and has the actress playing the titular role. The feel-good movie had completed its shoot earlier this year and the team has already released a few exciting teasers from the film.
The actress is also one of the front-runners for this year’s Kerala State Film Awards, after her role in Harikumar’s Jwalamukhi won her the Kerala Film Critics’ Award for Best Actress along with Samyuktha Menon. The film is inspired from the life of Seleena Michael, who worked as a caretaker at a Kochi crematorium.
